Gardening for Wellbeing

Join us at Melton Community Allotment for an enjoyable session surrounded by nature.

Come and meet new people, learn new skills and look after your wellbeing in the fresh air.

When - every Wednesday, 2:30-4:30pm

Venue - Melton Community Allotment @ Melton Country Park, Doctor’s Lane Entrance, LE13 1QB

And here's a little poem by someone who enjoys our sessions to help inspire you to come along!

The seeds of change.

The turn of the soil. One less frown line. Half a smile.

Blackbird picks the worm. Scatter the seeds. Wait for the crop.

Time for tea. And at one with nature.

One full smile.

.

Melton Country Park is close to Melton town centre (see directions below).

The community allotments are part of the country park, and accessible.

They provide a peaceful place to enjoy gardening, watering, weeding and some light physical activity! The allotments also have an outdoor toilet, and places to sit inside and outside if you fancy just coming along for a natter and a biscuit in the fresh air.

They're a really nice setting just to appreciate nature and benefit from the therapeutic effects of the outdoors.

How to find us:

Driving on the A607 (out of Melton Mowbray)

  1. Drive past Tesco on Thorpe Road and turn left onto Bowley Avenue
  2. Follow the road to the end, and turn left onto Ferneley Crescent
  3. Take the first right onto Doctor’s Lane (there’s no road sign)
  4. Turn almost immediately right again (it has a brown sign to the country park at the junction)
  5. At the end of the tarmac road, immediately after the houses, turn left under the height restriction bar
  6. Continue straight ahead on the gravel road and keep going down. Go past two car parks on your right, and park in the furthest one.
  7. The community allotment is down a short rough path, next to this car park. Take care as the path is uneven and rough underfoot.

We hope to see you there!
