Back in January, we opened our centre in the heart of Melton Mowbray. Since then, we have continued to grow, welcomed many more members and found new ways of supporting mental health in our community.
From the moment we found our home on King Street, we received a warm welcome from the community. We have made some wonderful connections and have been lucky enough to network with a range of services who have shown their support to us.
Our drop-in sessions have provided members with a safe and inviting space to come and take a break, have fun, socialise or simply relax with a cup of tea, whilst our art, yoga and music for wellbeing sessions have seen members enjoy the benefits of these therapeutic activities. Our fantastic team of volunteers continue to be the heart of our charity, offering a warm welcome and listening ear to our members and selflessly donating their time each week.
It was therefore a huge honour when Pepper’s was awarded Community Group of the Year at The Best of Melton Awards, recognising our hard work and the dedication of our volunteer team.
This was shortly followed by a commended award from the Rural Community Council. We were thrilled to have been chosen for this award amongst so many inspiring groups and individuals who have made positive impacts in their communities across Rutland.
As we look ahead to 2023, we are excited to continuing growing our centres. If you’d like to come along to one of our drop-in sessions, you can find further details here and take a look at when our activity sessions are running here . We hope to welcome more empathetic and friendly volunteers to our team. If you are interested in finding out a little more about the role, why not get in touch here.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Pepper’s over the year! To keep up-to-date with what we’re up to, follow us on social media or drop us an email.
